Writer, singer, dreamer. Lover of people, places, story and song.
Heather believes in the transformative power of creativity and courage. She loves melody, making and (truth be told) a little mayhem mixed into anything she does. It’s impossible for her to not be working on a song.
Her current projects include a community dream assessment, mapping Chicago and its 77+ communities by the dreams on the hearts of its residents. It will culminate in a mixed-media happening on display in public and private spaces in late 2018. Recent explorations through story and song center around the heartbreaking and hopeful lessons learned after a three year adventure taking public displays of art and affection to the streets, public schools and studios.
After two decades working under inspirational leadership in national and local arts, government and not for profit institutions, Heather leapt towards her own dream of starting something by launching Dream Chicago in 2012. Masterclasses, dream camps, music events and dream spaces are a few of the ways the organization connects artists living their dreams with those just beginning the adventure.
She is beyond blissful to belong to the Fulton Street Collective family.
If you’ve got a melody in need of words, or a story in need of hope, try her!
