Sketchbook Todd Siegel For: Adults, 17 & up When: Sundays, April 24 thru May 22, 2-5pm This course is designed for students who want to learn or improve upon their drawing abilities. Students will learn several different drawing techniques designed to build up a variety of drawing skills. Students will draw on location at different places throughout the city of Chicago. We will study how artists throughout time have used sketchbooks to record a visual and creative workbook used in their artwork and begin to develop those skills while visiting different places throughout the city. This course is designed to be 6 weeks long. Class will be held on Sundays from 2-5pm. Cost: $175. Beginning Drawing (Technique)
Todd Siegel For: Adults, 17 & up, beginning skill level When: Sundays, April 24 thru May 22, 10am-1pm This course is designed for people who want to learn or improve their drawing skills. Students will learn several different drawing techniques designed to progressively improve drawing proficiency. We will use a variety of traditional drawing materials including charcoal, pencil and ink. All lessons will be supplemented with a viewing of traditional and contemporary artwork. Cost: $175. My Chicago: Creating an Urban Artist’s Book Jennifer Stocker For: Adults When: Thursdays, April 28, thru May 19, 7 - 9 pm In this multi-level class, students will explore the urban landscape through a mixture of traditional drawing as well as contemporary collage, printmaking and painting. We will utilize our sketches and imagination to create an artist’s book as a final project. Basic art materials will be provided. Limit of 10 students. Cost: $175. D.I.Y Studio Sarah Pelsoh For: Adults When: Saturdays, 10am-12pm, April 30 - May 28 Create cutting edge crafts that will have all your friends saying "wow"! Use your new ideas to create presents for your loved ones or beautiful pieces for yourself. Projects include jewelry, print making, personalized stationary, applique and bookbinding. After each class, you will take home a project that you can use daily. Cost: $150. Screen Printing Sarah Pelsoh For; Adults When: Saturdays, April 30 - May 28 Students learn how to build their own screen, create a stencil, use photo emultion and gain an understanding of registration through screen printing. Students will experiment with printing on a variety of materials. After the course is complete, the students will have the knowledge to build their own screen printing set-up at home. All students will install a show of their new art at the Fulton Street Collective Gallery. Cost: $175. |
