Gunjan KumarMy work is symbolic of fundamental unity of elements. Earth and minerals are ground and mixed with water and organic matter, each natural state always in midst of change. I try to immerse consciousness itself in the natural world as an essential energy synchronized with the forces of earth, water, wind and heat. In this attempt of loosing boundary of self, these works represent loss of authority, a state of uncontrol, and submission to unknowable chaos.
These paintings intend to produce a direct awareness of reception of their process. They attempt to carry a dimension of wonder and absorption, use of ancient wisdom, thereby creating a continuity of knowledge and pleasure drawn from age-old resources. Gunjan Kumar 2014 www.gunjankumar.com |
