Patricia Linninger Colmenero
Patricia Linninger Colmenero is a Chicago based painter and multi-media artist.
Although she lives and works in Chicago, LC comes from a multi-cultural family and spends time in Vienna, Austria and Mérida, Spain.
She received her degree in Philosophy and Studio Arts from Bard College in 2018. Her artistic influences include painters such as Jenny Saville, Kerry James Marshall, Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Bob Thompson, and Cecily Brown (to name a few).
Works by Ludwig Wittgenstein, Plato, Jorge Luis Borges, Ibn Tufayl (again, only to name a few) have all been a tremendous influence on LC. Her own work primarily focuses on the figure with themes of identity, perception, and visual constructs.
Working with color and shape, she attempts to work out her own questions about selfhood and understanding. Her aim is that her work provokes thought for the viewer.
